On February 18th, 2004, Fellowship Church was able to purchase 11 acres of land in the center of Rotonda West Florida. We were then further blessed when Charlotte County voted in favor of our church and vacated the 1.5 acres of roadway separating the two halves of our property, thus giving Fellowship Church 12.5 acres of beautiful real estate in Rotonda.
In November of 2009, Fellowship Church received approval to begin building the 'Sanctuary Phase' (Phase One) of the facility, by the Rotonda Development Committee. On December 1, 2009, Fellowship Church secured an additional 3 acres of adjacent property, directly to the West of the original 12.5 acres. Not affecting original planning or development, this additional property purchase gives Fellowship over 15.5 acres of useable property, and increases road-frontage on Rotonda Boulevard West, Parade Circle and Pebble Beach Road to over one half mile in total!
Fellowship Church hired a cutting-edge architecture company specializing in church design in 2005, the J. David Shanks Architect Company out of Dallas, Texas (link) to head the design phase of our facility. And in March of 2009, after receiving bids from many local builders, Fellowship signed a contract with Zirklebach Construction out of Sarasota, Florida (link), to head the building phase of Fellowship Church.
With land and architecture paid for, we have successfully received approval from the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) and the Rotonda Development Committee to begin construction of Fellowship Church's future home, beginning with the sanctuary. We thank God for giving us patience and guidance as we endured the negotiations and hurdles to get to this point. We also ask for His Divine Hand to be on us, as we begin construction... |
